Colors and flowers

Knowing your colors early is a big help with wedding planning. So much depends on those colors. Those colors will determine bridesmaid dresses, decorations for the ceremony and reception, invitation selections and the flowers.

For my wedding, I am being the typical girl and going with a shade of pink--watermelon (according to David's Bridal.) This pink will be the dress color of my five bridesmaids and be accented throughout the wedding.

This color even helped me determine my flowers, because that was a more difficult choice for me. Most people that know me very well know that I am not a fan of flowers. Flowers are pretty, I agree. I just feel it is unnecessary to receive cut flowers that are just going to die soon.

In my mind, there is no need in wasting the money. Instead, buy something I can enjoy for a long time--like a book. Of course, I know most people aren't going to agree with me. My own mother would love to have a bouquet of flowers, but not me. Because of my unusual dislike of flowers, the flower choice became difficult. Because I'm not a fan of flowers, there was no flower that popped in my mind. So I did some browsing on the Internet and found a flower that had my colors and is very beautiful--a stargazer lily.
